Terms of Use
Last updated: April 25, 2026.
1. What this tool does
GT Resolver is a free, unauthenticated web tool that takes an Xbox Live gamertag and returns IP addresses that have been observed in association with that gamertag. The lookup is performed by a third party service, 0xinfo.cx. GT Resolver itself runs entirely in your browser. No accounts, no analytics, no server side logging.
2. Acceptable use
This tool is intended only for lawful, ethical, and consensual purposes, including but not limited to:
- Troubleshooting your own connection or your own console.
- Security research conducted with appropriate authorization.
- Journalism and academic study, where the work follows applicable ethical standards.
- Educational use that does not target an identifiable individual.
3. Forbidden use
Do not use this tool, and do not direct anyone else to use this tool, for any of the following. This list is not exhaustive.
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threats of any kind.
- Stalking, including online stalking, and any form of unwanted surveillance.
- Doxing, publishing personal information, or attempting to identify a person without their consent.
- Swatting or any false report to emergency services.
- Targeting a connection with denial of service, distributed denial of service, packet flooding, lag switching, or any similar interference.
- Any activity targeting a minor.
- Any activity that violates the terms of service of Xbox Live, Microsoft, or another platform.
- Any activity that violates applicable law, including computer misuse, communications, harassment, and privacy laws.
- Any activity that endangers the rights, safety, dignity, or property of another person.
Violations of this section are taken seriously. By using GT Resolver you affirm that you understand and accept these limits.
4. No warranty
GT Resolver is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. Data returned by the lookup may be inaccurate, stale, incomplete, or attributed to the wrong gamertag. Do not rely on these results for decisions that affect another person.
5. Liability and affiliation
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GT Resolver, its operators, and its contributors accept no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this tool, the data it returns, or any third party service it links to. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, harm to reputation, account or platform action taken against you, and any harm caused to another person. You use this tool entirely at your own risk and are solely responsible for any decision or action you take based on its output.
GT Resolver is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, partnered with, or in any way associated with Microsoft Corporation, Xbox, Xbox Live, Xbox Game Studios, or any related product, service, or subsidiary. The terms "Xbox" and "Xbox Live" are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation and are used here in a purely descriptive capacity to identify the platform whose publicly known gamertags this tool resolves. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced on this site are the property of their respective owners and their use does not imply any endorsement.
Microsoft, Xbox, and any associated rightsholder retain the sole right to enforce their terms of service against any account or user. Nothing on this site grants you any license, right, or permission with respect to those services or trademarks.
6. No tracking
This site does not run analytics. It does not log queries server side. It does not set any tracking cookies. The only network calls made by this page are:
- The lookup request to 0xinfo.cx, which you can inspect in your browser dev tools.
- An optional redirect, on your click, to check-host.net for IP geolocation. That request only happens if you choose to open it.
- Service worker fetches for static assets that make up this page.
Recent searches, if you have any, are stored in your browser localStorage and never leave your device.
7. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using a tool like this to harass, stalk, or threaten you or another person, report the misuse directly to the platform involved (Xbox Live, the sender's email or social platform, the relevant ISP), and to local law enforcement when there is a credible threat. GT Resolver does not collect a contact channel and is not a clearinghouse for abuse reports.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
